About ME

My name is Paddy Byrne. I work in Glasgow as a functional consultant specializing in Power Platform solutions and in particular Customer Engagement or CRM as it was formally known. I spend my lunchtimes bouldering, and I am a keen skydiver who loves professional wrestling.

I started working with Microsoft Dynamics CRM version 4.0 as a user back in 2009 and became a consultant working for a Microsoft Gold partner in 2013.

In 2016 I became a father, but tragically, my partner suffered a spinal stroke shortly after the birth leaving her severely disabled. Although I continued to work with Dynamics 365, I found it challenging to dedicate any time to personal improvement as the challenges I faced in my own life became overwhelming.

Early in 2019, I learned to adapt to my circumstances. I attended the first Dynamics 365 Scotland event in January, and it was invigorating. I felt like I had been treading water for three years; it was now time to start learning more about Microsoft Business Applications and pick up where I left off.

As the primary carer for my partner and young son, finding time to keep up with the relentless stream of new software releases and uses can be a challenge. It is this challenge that has prompted me to adopt a learn, document, share philosophy and lifestyle. My primary objective in creating content for this blog and other channels is to encourage everyone to continue their ongoing personal development, in particular, those who struggle to dedicate extended periods to study due to family or other personal commitments.
